Chakra Truro - The chakras are areas of metaphysical or biophysical energy in the human body, this is based on the Hindu custom. 7 central chakras are in the body, but many believe that there are also minor chakras situated inside the body. Several modern believers have drawn parallels between the key organs of the endocrine system and the chakra system.

A series of lotus flowers moving up the spine to the crown of the head represent the 7 important chakras. Each chakra has a component, plus an associated colour plus source of energy and each lotus has a particular number of petals. As the chakras advance from the lowest to the highest, they govern increasingly spiritual functions. As a person becomes extra spiritually aware, they get in contact with the upper chakras one by one. The lowest chakra relates to the most basic physical concerns, whilst the highest represents enlightenment.

The Root Chakra is claimed to be situated at the base of the spinal column. It's considered to symbolize basic instincts, survival and emotions of security. The root chakra is associated with the component of earth and the colour red. It is visualized as a four petal lotus.

The Sacral Chakra is alleged to live inside the pelvis or the groin. It is associated to feelings, sexual energy and creativity. This chakra is associated with the element water and the colour orange and is typified by a 6 petal lotus flower.

The Solar Plexus chakra is situated inside the area where the thorax and the stomach meet up. It governs psychological function, energy and digestion. The solar plexus chakra colour is yellow and its' component is fire. It is represented by a 10 petal lotus.

The Heart Chakra is alleged to control sympathy and love and is associated with the chest region incorporating the lungs. The heart chakra is related to the colour green and the element of air. Its lotus has 12 petals.

The Throat Chakra is said to self-expression, progress and communication. It's represented by a 16 petal lotus and is associated with the element of sound or life and the colour blue.

The Brow Chakra is as well referred to as the third eye. It is delineated by a 2 petal lotus and said to control notion and insight. Its colour is indigo and it's related to the element of light or time.

The Crown Chakra is imagined to be the link to the divine or to symbolize the pinnacle of religious consciousness. Symbolized as a violet or white lotus having a thousand petals, its related element is space or thought.

The city of Truro is considered the "Hub of Nova Scotia" as it is situated along the Canadian National Railway.
